Daily Prayer For June 12, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

We thank for the privilege of being alive today… as we come together, we pray for all who are grieving and traumatized by the tragedy in Orlando. We pray for comfort, Lord…we pray that people will find you in the midst of their pain and loss…we pray that those who are searching for answers and hope will reach out to find that you are the answer to every question that could be asked….

Lord, help us to remember that you give grace sufficient for each day…your grace sees us through trauma… through loss…through trials…through illness…through times of lack and time of plenty…your grace is enough to help us get through everything we face…your grace helps us to know your power…that nothing shall be impossible because of you…your grace allows us to stand strong before our enemies and your grace will lead us home to you…

Father, may we open our hearts and our hurts to you…may we open those raw, hidden places that we are afraid to let anyone see or know about…the places that we try to forget but can’t…we ask for the courage to face our fears… the things that have become such a part of us we don’t know who we would be without them…help us to find healing through your grace…your amazing grace that saves…your grace that gives new vision…vision to see through your eyes…vision that allows us to see old hurts in new ways…vision that helps us to see past all that we’ve endured, all that we’ve regretted, all that we failed at…all that we were never able to achieve… all that we have never been able to let go of…help us to see everything through your eyes…help us to love ourselves and others with your love…help us to find the freedom and strength that your grace provides…we were lost, but now we’re found…we were blind but now we see…may those not be just nice words we sing, but they become real to us in ways we’ve never known.

Lord, help us not to lose another night of sleep worrying or being filled with regret…help us to not miss another opportunity to show our family and friends that we love them…help us to live each day as though it could be our last…this weekend has shown us that we never know how long we have…young and old alike, we only are guaranteed this moment…help us to do all the things we need to do…all the things we’ve put off…all the things that will help us move forward so we can make the most of our days … help us to remember your grace will empower, sustain and carry us until you lead us home. We thank you that we can ask these things in Christ’s name. Amen
