Daily Prayer For June 7, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

Thank you for giving us another day of life. We thank you for being our companion today and everyday…we thank you that no matter what we face, you are by our side, sharing each moment with us… longing to talk with us… to carry us when we are weak… refresh us when we are weary…reassure us when we are upset, filled with anxiety, worry or fear…comfort us when we are sad…encourage us when we feel discouraged… guide us in our decisions…protect us from evil… correct us when we are wrong…be our source of wisdom, courage, power and everything we need…you want to laugh with us and share our joy as well as our tears…what a good, good Father you are…

You long to be with us…you enjoy our company…you never tire of us…you love us unconditionally and perfectly…when we think of all you are…of how you are… how could we ever not want to spend time with you?…how could we become so sidetracked and so busy that we think there is not enough time in our day for you?…how could we not make you our priority every day? How can we so easily give the crumbs of our time instead of the better part of our day…the better part of our time and attention…

Lord, thank you for your patience with us…thank you for sticking with us closer than any brother or friend… we are grateful you don’t want to just know us casually…you want to know us intimately…you care about us deeply…our closest relationships can’t begin to compare with your feelings for us…you love us and care for us so much that you gave us Jesus…there is no greater love…help that thought change us, Lord…may that thought make us know our worth …may the thought of all Jesus endured for us help us to overcome our poor sense of self…may that though help us overcome our insecurities, any feelings of rejection and the harsh words and treatment of others…it’s your opinion alone that matters…

Lord, we ask to be filled with your wisdom and a hunger and thirst for more of you…help us not settle for the things that this world offers…help us to live with an awareness that you are with us every second of every day…that you see every move we make, every thought we think, every emotion we feel and nothing will scare you away, make you turn away, make you love us less or more than you love us at this moment…

May thoughts of you consume us and fill us with peace and contentment…may we have the calm assurance that we are held securely in your hand and no matter what comes, goes or changes in this world, we belong to you and we are only passing through this world to reach our destination… we love you, Lord…we commit this day to you and pray we will serve you well and glorify you with all that we say and do. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
