Daily Prayer For March 17, 2023
Fri Mar 17, 2023 11:54 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for keeping us safe through the night and for this new day. As we remember St. Patrick today, may his life and legacy of faith remind us that healing is possible…that forgiveness is possible…that extraordinary things are possible when we listen to your voice, are obedient, and put our faith and trust in you.
Patrick could have become angry, bitter, and despaired of life after being kidnapped and enslaved, but like Joseph, he turned to you and found you to be his hope and strength amid his suffering and servitude. He opened his heart to you, and you used his time in captivity to change him as he spent his time praying…hour after hour…day after day…year after year. When the time was right, miraculously, you showed him how to escape. Most people would have fled and never looked back, but Patrick felt you called him back to Ireland to spread the good news of the gospel. He is a perfect example of how one person committed to you can be used to change the world. There are so many lessons to learn from his extraordinary life and example. Please help us so we don’t let pain, bitterness, or unforgiveness consume us. Help us see what you have done for us is far greater than what anyone has done to us. Help us grow and mature in faith so we draw closer to you during times of adversity and hardship.
Father, we know so much happens in life that isn’t fair or right. Please help us, so the things the enemy sends to destroy us will make us better, not bitter. Help us learn to forgive like Jesus, Joseph, and Patrick were able to do. Please work in us so your love and Spirit flow through us and allow us to love our enemies and pray for those who hurt us, persecute us, and mean us harm. May Patrick serve as a reminder of how you can change, transform and work everything together for good. Help us trust and believe you are working in us and our circumstances, even when you seem silent and we can’t see signs of how you are working.
Thank you for being with us in good times and bad and for your mercy, strength, and grace that sustains us in all we face. Thank you for the heroes of faith and their stories that inspire and encourage us and remind us that you have the last word in all things. In the name of our Savior, Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.
May God’s blessings and favor be upon you, friends!
