Daily Prayer For September 11, 2023
Mon Sep 11, 2023 6:13 pm
This is known as The World Trade Center Cross and the Ground Zero Cross. It is a group of steel beams found among the debris of the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, New York City, following the September 11 attacks. I post this picture each year to serve as a reminder that Jesus sends signs of His nearness even in the darkest of times.
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Today, we once again remember the tragic events in 2001. That day changed our whole world in so many ways. We saw the worst in humanity and the best all at once. Most of us have forever etched images in our minds that remind us of the shock, horror, pain, and loss we felt and the incredible acts of selflessness, kindness, sacrifice, and unconditional love we witnessed that day and the days after.
Lord, we pray for all who lost loved ones because of the events on 9/11/2001. We pray for comfort for families and people everywhere who feel a sense of sadness, loss, and grief. We pray for all who have lost loved ones, their homes, and their way of life due to terrorism, persecution, and violence.
We ask for your healing hand to be on all whose health has been affected because they were responders to this tragedy. So many suffer the physical effects of all the chemicals, dust, and pollutants they were subjected to and have PTSD from all they saw and experienced. Please bless each one and their families for their sacrifices, and we ask you to provide for their every need. We pray that all the brave people who wear a uniform and serve will be forever recognized as the heroes they are. May our world never forget their bravery, courage, and selflessness and how they rush toward danger to protect and serve as others run away.
Father, the events of 9-11 remind us we live in a fallen world full of evil and pain. We pray our nation and the world will again have that sense of unity that we all felt in the days and weeks after 9-11. May we once again overcome evil with good and love our neighbors as ourselves. We pray for your Spirit to move mightily in our world.
We are grateful for the signs you give us to remind us of your nearness and faithfulness. This 9-11 cross reminds us that because of Jesus, there is redemption, salvation, and hope….that evil and death do not have the last word…You do. We are thankful that there is coming a day when there will be no more evil, sin, tears, pain, suffering, loss, or death. We thank you for the promise of all that is to come for those who believe. We thank you for our Savior Jesus, in whose mighty name we pray. Amen
May you feel His comfort and nearness today, friends.
