Daily Prayer For April 4, 2023
Tue Apr 04, 2023 9:30 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
As we think about all you went through during the last week of your life, you modeled many things for us. You took your anxiety and fear to your Father in the Garden of Gethsemane. You poured out your heart and asked your Father to take the cup of suffering from you. You sweated drops of blood as you physically manifested the magnitude of all that was weighing on you. We have experienced anxiety and fear…but never to the point of sweating blood. We are humbled to know that we never have to question if you understand what we deal with when we’re worried, anxious, afraid, or face traumatic events.
The Bible says when we are afraid to put our trust in you. You modeled what that kind of trust looks like. You asked for your Father’s will to be done, not your own…and then showed us what faith over fear looks like. You showed us what it means to worship over worry. You showed us how to face hard things with courage.
You were a man of sorrows, well acquainted with grief. You have experienced betrayal by those closest to you. You know the pain of being let down by people who said you could count on them. You know firsthand what it is like to be condemned and judged wrongly and harshly. You have suffered at the hands of angry, self-righteous people who only see others’ perceived faults but not their own. You know the pain of rejection and what it is like to be slandered and lied about. You know better than anyone about injustice and how life can be cruel and unfair…and you have modeled for us what it looks like to forgive those who hurt you and to pray for your enemies and those who persecute you. You are our role model of how to love with agape love, and you give us the strength to do what we can’t do in our own power or strength.
We fall so short in trying to do the things you’ve modeled for us. Thank you for your grace and mercy. Thank you for the forgiveness and redemption you offer. Thank you for being our Savior who understands and offers comfort, compassion, and empathy for the hard and harsh things we deal with. Thank you for being with us in all we face and for the healing, hope, restoration, and redemption you offer us. We love you, and we offer you our praise and gratitude today. We thank you that we can come to the Father in your name to pray. Amen.
May you feel the depth of His love for you, friends!
