Daily Prayer For January 4, 2017
Wed Jan 04, 2017 4:56 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Your ways are not our ways and your timing is not our timing… you can calm the winds and waves and our anxious hearts with just one word. You can part the seas, turn water to wine, raise the dead and make the blind to see. You allowed Lazarus to die, so you could do a bigger miracle and raise him from the dead. You are still doing miracles…your promises are the same today as they were a thousand years ago and they will still be true tomorrow… please help us to see things through the lens of faith and help us to understand that sometimes you allow things to happen to do something greater than what we can see or imagine at the time.
Help us to embrace the things we don’t yet understand…help us to remember that sometimes you take us on the back roads and on slow journeys for a reason…everything you do is for our good and your glory…waiting time is not wasted time…you are working while we are waiting…you are never late or early and never in a hurry…your delays are not denials…often delays are your way of protecting us, or perfecting us…sometimes we get a glimpse of the bigger picture…sometimes we get to see in this life, how you have worked things together for good… but many things, we will not understand until we are home with you…Help us to not rush ahead of you, Lord…help us not to grumble and complain when your ways and timing are different from what we hope or pray for…
Lord, we have so much to learn from you, but we want to be teachable. We want to have unshakable faith that does not waver and that STANDS, instead of running, complaining, worrying or cowering in fear. We want to have the kind of trust that allows us to say “even though I don’t understand, I know you do, Lord and that is enough.”
Mold us and teach us Lord, we are yours. We love you and adore you. We bow before you. We surrender to you all that we are and all that we hope to be…we surrender our needs, our cares and our families and we put everything into your hands. We thank you in advance for all you will do. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Blessings to you friends!
