Daily Prayer For January 24, 2017
Tue Jan 24, 2017 9:48 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
We ask for forgiveness for the times we grumble and complain about our circumstances…we ask for protection of our hearts and minds so we can maintain a good attitude in the midst of all the negativity that surrounds us… We think about the Israelite’s in the Old Testament and how they often complained about the way you did things…it seems in our humanness it is often easier to complain than praise…easier to see all that is wrong, before seeing all that is right…
Lord, may we learn from the examples of others who have gone before us…both good and bad… as Moses and your children wandered in the desert, they had you leading them by a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. They had tangible signs of your presence and saw miracle after miracle performed by you and yet they wondered where you were in the midst of their circumstances…they saw the Red Sea part, manna falling from the sky to feed them for forty years… they saw the plagues that you called down on Egypt…they saw you working all around them and yet they grumbled, complained and questioned…
Lord, help us to remember all that you have done in the past and all that you promise to do in the future. Help us to live with an attitude of gratitude and with a right spirit that honors you. We may not see miracles like seas parting and audible voices and manna coming from heaven, but you do show us in so many ways that you are with us… Help us to see with spiritual eyes and have clear and focused vision. Help us to see past the bad stuff to see your hand working in our midst. Help us to be thankful children whose hearts grow softer instead of harder with tribulation.
Many who are with us feel like they have been in the desert for so long…many feel lost, forgotten, weak and weary… Father, may we all feel your presence and your spirit with us today. You sustained your children one day at a time and you do the same with us. You promise to give us your grace, strength and power that will be enough to sustain us today. Hear our petitions, Lord and draw us close to yourself. We thank you for this day you’ve given us. May we serve you well. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Blessings be upon you!
