Daily Prayer For January 20, 2017

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up this day to you and all that’s in it. We pray for today’s inauguration. We pray any disruptive or harmful plans will be thwarted…we pray for protection, wisdom and guidance for all who serve and put their lives on the line to protect others and we pray for safety for our leaders and their family’s. Please let today go smoothly and be a peaceful transition.
We are coming humbly before you and seeking your face…we are asking for forgiveness for the ways our country and people have sinned against you… we are asking you to heal our land …we know above all else, we need you, Father…this world is not our home, we are only passing through… our battles are not against flesh and blood, but with the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms…so we pray for our leaders that they will seek your face and they will seek your wisdom, guidance and counsel…may you be the light that guides them and their inner voice that leads them with your sense of mercy, compassion, righteousness and love. May they fear displeasing you, more than anyone else. May they be humble before you. May they be slow to speak and quick to listen. May our government be run by honest, trustworthy and honorable men and women who have integrity and seek to serve to make our country and world a better place.
Lord, help us to become faithful prayer warriors…help us to be lights in the dark and may our words bring healing, hope and encouragement to those around us…may we be known by our love…may people see you in us…may we extend the same grace to others that you extend to us…may we do the right thing and always with love, even when the right thing may be difficult or not popular …may we be courageous and unafraid to live boldly for you and we pray these same things for our leaders.
Father, we know there is much that separates and divides our country…there is much work that needs to be done by our leaders, by those in ministry, by every believer…lead and guide us in all that we say and do that we may be the people you want us to be. We pray that those who don’t know you will come to a saving knowledge of who you are. Lord, may your blessing be upon this country so we can be a blessing to the world and be a beacon on a hill that is a symbol of hope and your grace that points the way to you. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
