Daily Prayer For January 6, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Everything we experience as a Christian teaches us to look at things differently…you want us to see nothing as impossible…that you can do things no man can do…you use the simple and foolish things of the world to confound the wise…your ways are not our ways, your timing is not our timing, you can calm the winds and waves and our anxious hearts with just one word or thought. You can part the seas, turn water to wine, raise the dead and make the blind to see. You allowed Lazarus to die, so you could do a bigger miracle and raise him from the dead… You are still doing miracles…your promises are the same today as they were a thousand years ago and they will still be true tomorrow… help us Lord, to see things through the lens of faith and help us to understand that sometimes you allow things to happen just so we can see you work and to grow and test our faith. Help us to embrace and long for the intimate relationship that you want to have with us. Help us to embrace the things we don’t understand and to trust and believe in you more with each passing day.
Sometimes you take us on the back routes… and on slow journeys… and more often than not, you don’t answer our prayers right away… but everything you do is for our good and to teach us lessons we can not learn any other way. You want us to know, not just from reading, but from experience, that no weapon formed against us can prosper and that you are firmly in control and on the throne and we are held safely in your hand.
Lord, we have so much to learn of you, but we want to be teachable. We want to have unshakable faith that does not waver and that STANDS, instead of running, complaining or cowering in fear. We want to have the kind of trust that allows us to say “even though I don’t understand, I trust and know my Father, and that is all I need to know.” Please pour out your wisdom and knowledge upon us, so we can understand your will for our lives…so we can walk in a way that is pleasing to you…so people can see you in us… Please pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and fill us, that we may have Holy boldness and courage… Mold us and teach us Lord, we are yours. We love you and adore you. We bow before you. We surrender to you Lord and we thank you in advance for meeting our needs…we look forward to all that you will do to show yourself in our circumstances. With faith and hope in our hearts we ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen
