Daily Prayer For December 24, 2016
Sat Dec 24, 2016 3:09 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
We thank you for this day. We thank you for caring enough for us to send us your only Son…
Lord, we lift up to you all who are ill…we lift up to you all who are sad, lonely, anxious, worried and fearful…we lift up to you all who are feeling like the world is celebrating while they are left out…we lift up to you all who are living in areas that are war-torn and their lives are in danger…we lift up all the people who are being held captive…for all who are wondering where you are in the midst of their suffering…Lord, may they know you are there…Jesus’ birth reminds us that He is with us…He humbled Himself and took on flesh so we would never have to wonder where He is…He is beside us protecting us…He is going through our trials with us, even while interceding for us…who better to pray for us than the one who is intimately acquainted with pain, grief, and suffering…The One who sees and hears our innermost thoughts and feelings…our deepest longings and times of intense suffering and pain…our Emmanuel who is with us always…
We think of how scared Mary and Joseph must have felt as they tried to find a place to birth their baby…how scared they must have been and how horrible they must have felt, knowing that innocent children were being slaughtered because the king feared Jesus’ birth…Jesus was born in the midst of scary, troubling times…there was nothing comfortable for Mary, Joseph and Jesus at His birth…but against all odds, hope was born…we do not worship a baby…we worship the Lion of Judah…we worship a risen Savior…The King of Kings and Lord of Lords, The Prince of Peace, Our Advocate, Defender, and Protector, who conquered death and overcame the world…
Jesus was born to take on our suffering and because of His incredible sacrifices and suffering, we now live…we have a hope and a future…Lord, help us remember what Christmas is truly about…help us carry that hope and strength in us, no matter what we face…no matter how we feel…for those who don’t feel festive or feel like celebrating…help them remember that Christmas is more than a feeling…it is hope within us…it is the same power that raised Christ from the dead within us…it is the overcoming power of Jesus…it is the belief that when God is involved, miracles happen…a child can be born of a virgin and be the Savior of the world…
Oh, Lord, thank you for your great love for us that you would go to such great lengths to make a way for us…to save us…to be with us…may we never doubt our worth and value in your eyes…no matter who rejects us, no matter who thinks badly of us…no matter who means to do us harm…all that pales when we think of you and all you’ve done so we can be called your children and share in your Kingdom. Thank you, Lord for your incredible gift. We love you. We praise you. We bow before you this day and worship you. In the name of our Messiah Jesus we pray. Amen
Blessings to you friends. Praying for traveling mercies for you and a Christmas Eve that is filled with His peace for you and those you love.
