Daily Prayer For February 20, 2023
Tue Mar 07, 2023 2:53 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day. As we gather on this holiday, we want to pray for our leaders. Scripture tells us to pray and intercede for those in authority. Father, we pray they will be people after your own heart…that they will seek your will, wisdom, insight, and discernment, so they make good decisions for all of us…that they will seek to serve and not be served…that they will be good stewards of all that has been entrusted to them…that they will be people who keep their word, are honest and have integrity. Please bring wise, godly counsel into their lives to speak your truth and let them receive it, Abba.
There is so much that makes their jobs hard. They work long hours and spend a lot of time away from their families. Please bless each one with the strength, energy, stamina, and grace they need. These are challenging times to lead…there is so much division, and so much that’s wrong in our communities and country. We pray our leaders will have the moral fortitude, conviction, and courage to stand for freedom, justice, and what is right, even if they receive pushback and are being pressured by others to seek a different course of action.
The Bible tells us that if we humble ourselves, pray, seek your face, and turn from our wicked ways, then you will hear from heaven, forgive our sins, and heal our land. We pray for that healing and restoration, Father. We humble ourselves before you. We seek your face and pray for your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. There is so much that goes on that impacts our lives… so many choices and decisions that our leaders make that we disagree with, but we are praying for them as you command us. We ask that you make our hearts right before you and give us a heart that prays instead of complains. We know the faithful fervent prayers of the righteous can do much good, so we humbly ask you to move among leaders at every level. Just as there is a movement of the Holy Spirit moving across our country and world, we pray that the same thing will happen in the hearts of our leaders. Please soften hearts and open blind eyes so those who don’t know you will come to a saving knowledge of who you are.
We are so grateful, Father, for the privilege and blessing to live here. Our country was founded by many brave, faith-filled men who sought your help and wisdom to form this nation. They sacrificed so very much to give us our freedoms. Thank you for all you’ve given us, and we thank you in advance for all you will do as we lift these requests to you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
May you have a blessed day, friends!
