Daily Prayer For May 8, 2022
Wed Jun 22, 2022 2:41 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
You know Mother’s Day is a hard day for many people. You know each person who didn’t have a good relationship with their mom, all who are estranged from or never knew their mother…all who are missing or grieving the loss of their mom, and each one who is hurting because their loved one is ill or in declining health.
We lift to you all of the mothers who have lost children. We pray for the mothers estranged from their children and grandchildren…for the women who have longed to be a mother but have empty arms…and for the mothers who have children who are terminally ill or are dealing with chronic illness, disabilities, or addictions. We pray for single mothers and fathers who serve as both dad and mom and all who have become caregivers to their mothers. May each person who finds themselves in a difficult situation take comfort knowing they are seen by you. You know of all the struggles even when others don’t, and you are aware of the many ways they sacrifice for their children and parents. Please be their strength, provider, helpmate, source of encouragement, and all they need.
We also want to pray for everyone who feels unloved, unwanted, or abandoned. Your Word says even if a mother were to forget her child, you will never forget us. We are grateful that we are loved, cherished, and adored by you.
Lord, for all who are struggling with sadness, loneliness, grief, or loss today, we ask for your peace and comfort to envelop them and for your strength to sustain them. We especially ask for your comfort for all who are experiencing their first Mother’s Day without a loved one. You are the only one who can fill and heal the broken, empty places in our lives. Please touch each hurting heart as only you can.
Thank you for our moms, grandmothers, and every person you have placed in our lives who has nurtured us, loved us, mentored us, encouraged us, prayed for us, helped us, and blessed us. We are grateful for each one. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen!
May the Lord bless you and your day, friends!
