Daily Prayer For August 23, 2015
Sun Aug 23, 2015 10:10 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
We know that to you, one day is as a thousand years…time is different for you than us… but you understand us…you understand that when things are hard, time just seems to drag on and can seem impossible to endure. You understand the impatience and the discouragement we experience… you understood at times we would feel low and crushed in spirit, so you gave us your Holy Spirit to comfort us.
Lord, you say that you bind up the wounds of the brokenhearted and you comfort all who mourn … you give us a crown of beauty instead of mourning, and a garment of praise, instead of a spirit of despair….Lord, we ask for you to grant us these things according to your will and in your timing.
The Bible says that when we run into problems and trials that they are good for us… that they help us learn to be patient… and patience is something that matures us and helps us in every aspect of our lives… it helps us to endure…everyone always jokes that we should never pray for patience because it means that we will encounter trials so we learn to be patient…you know our hearts, Lord…you know how much we can endure with your help…we always think we can endure so much less than what you know we can endure with your help…you equip us for what you call us for…you allow us to be put in situations so we must rely on your strength to see us through…Lord, you know every need…every weakness…all that we need to overcome and all that we need to change in our lives to become like Christ and we ask for your help in every area of our lives so we can become the people you want us to be…
Please fill us to overflowing with your Spirit, Lord…wash away the despair and replace it with your joy. Revive the weary…restore what the enemy has devoured… give us this day a steady dose of optimism and enthusiasm for what our future holds. We may not know what the future holds, but we know you hold the future and our lives in your hand… we know you see the beginning from end and you are working a masterpiece from the shards of our broken lives. You do not give us empty words as promises. Thank you, for your infinite love and provision for us and we will listen intently today as your Spirit speaks comforting words to our heart’s today. We thank you, Lord…In Jesus’ name, Amen
Blessings be upon you and yours!
