Promises For The Broken Hearted - Isaiah 40: 28-29

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not faint or grow weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint and weary, and to him who has no might He increases strength [causing it to multiply and making it to abound].
- Isaiah 40: 28-29
The Hebrew word for weary means faint or exhausted, especially emotionally and spiritually. We become weak and weary when we try to do things in our strength. God created us and He knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows that we daily need to come to Him to be filled with His power and might and to renew our strength. He knows that there are difficulties and trials that we just can’t bear on our own… we just are not equipped. Adversity reveals our frailty and our great need for God.
God could have created us so that we would only need to be filled once with His power and then we would be good to go for the rest of our lives. But God didn’t create us that way, because He wants us to lean on Him and to rely on Him…to depend on Him to provide just as a father provides for His children’s daily needs. We can’t sleep enough in one day to last for a week, or eat enough food in one day to last for a week… in so many areas of our lives, God made us to receive what we need, one day at a time.
Be encouraged friend, if you are feeling weak and weary today, there is a promise waiting to be claimed with your name on it. Don’t wait another minute to find rest, to be renewed and strengthened. Enter into His presence and be filled!
