Daily Prayer For February 8, 2017

Hello, Friends. Here is the prayer for today…

Our Father,

We all have crosses to bear in this life… our crosses and trials are not intended to be easy or light… they are allowed to draw us closer to you…they are often much more than we can bear on our own, but they are never more than we can handle with your help…our crosses becomes more of a burden when we become bitter and resentful… Help us to remember that your yoke is gentle and easy and you make our burdens light…help us to remember that anything you allow is for a purpose and you only want the best for us… you are purifying us as gold…the process is not easy or painless, but the rewards will be worth it… one day we will be trading our cross for a crown.

Help us to submit our will to yours. Help us to picture you walking beside us as our burden bearer and giving us grace and strength for our journey. Like offering a cool drink to a weary traveler, you offer your peace, your strength, your joy, your love and your grace to each of us daily…you don’t just fill our cup and send us on our way…you keep filling our cups to overflowing…help us to remember to seek you when we feel our load starts to get too heavy…help us to stop in our tracks and not try to go a step further without your help…help us to see our times of adversity, grief, illness and loss as a chance to spend more time with you…a time to be closer to you and to experience more of you…

You give us everything we need to finish the race before us and to finish it well…it’s up to us to receive all that you offer…help us to learn to surrender the things that weigh us down, hold us back and cloud our vision. Help us not to lean on our own understanding…help us to trust that you know best…that you see the beginning from the end while we only see for now a part of what is happening.

You don’t lead us on the easiest path…we know the way is narrow that leads to life… but you go before us and make the rough roads smooth and make pathways in the wilderness and a way where there is no way…Thank you for all you do to help us prepare for the life that is to come…we thank you for never giving up on us and for being with us each moment of each day. We bow before you with humble hearts. We are so grateful that we have a Savior in whose name we can pray. Amen
