Daily Prayer For July 8, 2016

Hello, Friends. Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We come to you with heavy hearts…we grieve for the things we see happening in this world…Father, at times we feel helpless…we feel like we have no real power or ability to make a difference…we see the forces of evil at work and we see the pain that people inflict on each other…there is so much to complain about…so much that stirs righteous anger within us…so much we wish could be changed…

Lord, may we take all this pain and anger and turn it into prayers…may we not lose sight of the powerful tools you have equipped us with…the bottom line of all these horrific things happening in the world is we are not fighting against flesh and blood, we are fighting one real enemy who is behind it all and you have defeated him…the battles are still raging, but the war is already won…help us to keep pressing in and pressing on unto you call us home…

Lord, may we be mighty warriors in prayer…may we be mighty instruments of your love, peace and comfort…help us never to forget that every act of kindness matters…every prayer uttered matters…every time we comfort someone it matters… every time we point the way to you so others can find your hope, it matters…we never know when one kind word might be the word that saves a life…we never know when an act of love or compassion might be the only one a person has received for a very long time…please help us to remember that we are here for a reason…we have a purpose…we are here to bear witness to the truth of who you are so people can find you before it’s too late…

These are troubling times and it can be overwhelming when we are already dealing with our own grief, loss, adversity or illness…Lord, please pour out your grace and comfort…we pray for every hurting heart…for everyone who is dealing with loss and sadness…for everyone who feels like the weight of the world is on their shoulders…for everyone who is anxious, worried and fearful…for everyone who feels discouraged or despondent… for everyone who is need of a financial miracle and for all who need physical, emotional or mental healing…Lord, you see each need…we know you are near to the brokenhearted…may they feel your nearness…may they find your strength in their weakness…may they find hope to hold on till they see your light…

We pray for protection for all who serve and protect us, Lord…so many put their lives on the line for us every day…please protect them…they must feel so disheartened and discouraged …please don’t let those who do everything right, be persecuted for those who do things wrong…many innocent lives are being shed all around the world for many reasons and it is heartbreaking…we know that in your eyes, every life matters…

Father, please bless everyone who is reading this. May they feel your comfort surround them…may they feel secure in the knowledge that you see all and know all and you are still on the throne…we offer you our burdens, Lord and ask for your peace. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
