Daily Prayer For June 13, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…

Our Father,

As we pray today we want to give you our full attention…we want to remember that when we pray, we enter into your presence…because of Jesus, we can come directly to your throne of grace and have communion with you…we are free to enter into your gates and court with praise…because of all our beloved Savior did for us, our sin no longer separates us from you…thank you, Lord…thank you for desiring a close, intimate relationship with us…thank you for caring about every aspect of our lives… we thank you that no aspect of our lives is too small or uninteresting to you…you have a vested interest in our welfare and in seeing us succeed and triumph…in seeing us mature and grow…in seeing us do all that you know we are capable of…

As parents, we see so much in our children…we know our hopes and dreams for them…we often see what they are capable of before they do…our hearts hurt when they hurt…we rejoice when they rejoice…we delight in their laughter and happiness and everything that brings them joy…we are humbled that you feel all the things about us that we feel about our own children…how blessed we are to be called your children…how astonishing that we are heirs of the King…what a joyous thing to realize that we are beloved and treasured and that nothing and no one can snatch us from your hand.

Lord, help us to take nothing for granted…give us a hunger and thirst for time with you…for fellowship with you…to know you better…to receive all that you have for us…help us not to sell ourselves short when it comes to our divine inheritance…help us to open our arms to receive the precious, empowering gifts that you long to give us… too often we settle for crumbs from your table when you have prepared a feast for us…please help us to let go of the hurtful things that we have let define us…help us to let go of the people who try to hold us back and make us feel small and of little value or importance…help us to remember who we are in you…

Please, Father, come clean house in our heart’s and mind’s. Clean out the wounds. Erase the tapes that playback the hurtful events in our past and replace them with healthier truths from your Word…may your words be a soothing balm…may they heal, restore and empower us…Holy is your name, Lord…the enemy has come to rob, kill and destroy, but you are on the throne…you are mighty in strength and power and the gates of h*** cannot prevail against you or all that belong to you. Help us rise up, Father. The battle is getting more intense. Help us to focus on the things that are important…help us to keep looking forward and not look back. Help us to feel empowered and confident…no because of anything we’ve done, but because of who you are and because we belong to you. With gratitude and love we ask these things in the name of our risen Savior Jesus. Amen
