Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for this day…as we start the beginning of Holy Week, may our thoughts be of you. We ask for you to speak to our hearts…may we not take for granted or gloss over all you went through on our behalf…may we feel truly convicted and sorrowful for our sins…may we be humbled and made grateful by the thought of how great your love for us truly is…

Help us to remember Calvary…when we are tempted to think that our lives are over or worthless…when we are tempted to focus only on the hardships…when we are struggling to see your hand at work, help us to remember that if you can bring new life, salvation and redemption from something as horrible as the cross, you can give us beauty for ashes in our lives…you can turn our burdens to blessings…you can turn our messes into messages of your grace….you can turn our tests into testimonies of your faithfulness…you can take all the things that we have messed up in life and turn them into messages of your redemptive power…

You are the God of the impossible…The Giver Of Life…The God of All Power and Knowledge…you transform lives and hopeless situations into things we can’t imagine…every time we are discouraged…every time we are tempted to give up hope and think that there is nothing else that can be done… help us to remember that things aren’t over until you say they are over… help us to remember that you have options, ideas and resources that we can’t even begin to imagine…you make roadways in the wilderness and rivers in the desert…you take the cross and all its horror and ugliness and you turned it into a tool of mercy and grace and forgiveness…death cannot stop you…even as our flesh is fading day by day, we are being made new in our spirits…each day that passes brings us one day closer to being with you…one day closer to the things that are incorruptible…one day closer to new life, endless joy, perfect peace…

Lord, we give you glory and honor this day…there is none like you and no one else worthy of praise…stir in us a rebirth of our faith…help us to find that place of awe and wonder that the King of Kings would care so much for us to die in our place…help us to feel completely humbled and consumed with the great love that held Christ to that cross …help us to gain new strength and confidence as we think about all that it means to be your children…the blessings that entails…the promises that are given to us…the hope that we have because of all that happened in the span of that one week that changed the course of history and our lives. Nothing is impossible for those who believe…death has lost it’s sting…we are clothed in righteousness and made holy by The One who is Holy…thank you, Lord…we offer up this day and all that is in it. We thank you for our Savior Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen
