Daily Prayer For May 24, 2019

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up to you today all who are dealing with the aftermath of disasters and tragedies…so many are facing life-altering losses and changes and they don’t know where to begin to put their lives back together…they don’t know how to start to move forward. May they sense your nearness. May they feel your comfort. May they see your hand move on their behalf. May they find the faith and courage to trust you to lead and guide them in all that lies ahead. You know the way which we should go…you know the way through the dark valleys…

Many people are in need of hope and encouragement. Please give us opportunities to share the good news of the gospel with someone in need today. Please bring people into our lives who we can help and encourage. Every act of kindness makes our world a better place and has a positive, ripple effect. Too often we feel like our actions are insignificant and don’t matter. We often forget that the actions of one person can change the entire world…but even if we are not destined to change the world, we can make the world a better and brighter place for each person we come in contact with.

Help us to be aware and sensitive to the needs of those around us… and if you put no one in our path this day, then please prompt us to pray for someone in need. Every time we see or hear the news…every time we read of something someone is going through on social media…for all the people who are dealing with the same issues we are, yet we don’t know them personally…these are all opportunities to make a difference by praying, even if people don’t know we are praying…we could spend hours upon hours in prayer just from those things alone, without even thinking about the people that we know with prayer needs. Help us to look at things through your eyes. Help us to not be so focused on the things that directly affect us, that we miss divine appointments and opportunities that surround us.

Help us to pray boldly, and have big faith. You are able to do amazing things in a life that is yielded to you. You do not seek those who are qualified, you equip those who are willing. Your Word and history are full of countless stories of people who did great things, not because of who they were, but because of what they allowed you to do through them. We give you our lives and ask you to order our day. Please work in us and through us. May we bring glory to your name and live this day well. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen
