Daily Prayer For May 22, 2019

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

You tell us to be still and know that you are God… but in this fast-paced, noisy world, many have trouble being still. For many, it’s uncomfortable to sit in silence or to not be on the go…many don’t like to be alone with their thoughts, feelings or pain. As a society, we are impatient…there is always this war that rages between the flesh and the Spirit within us. Please help us to overcome and become better in our areas of weakness. Help us to continually die to ourselves that Jesus may be resurrected within us.

Please help us to learn to be content in all things. Help us to grow and mature in you. Help us to learn to complain less, and praise and trust you more. Help us to not be stubborn, strong-willed, or insistent on our own way. Help us to be obedient to you. In our humanness we often rebel…we want to do things on our own…we want things to happen on our own time table and in the way that we think is best and that often leads to disastrous results and bad attitudes.

Help us to let go of our expectations. Help us to remember that you are always working even when you seem silent. You waste nothing. You are in control and are always watching and always mindful of our needs. You are with everyone who calls upon you in truth. You are not slow to answer. Thankfully, your timing is perfect. Help us to learn to be in this world, but not of it. Help us to seek the eternal perspective in all things and in all of our ways. We pray that you will be pleased with us, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen
