Daily Prayer For January 15, 2018

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Heavenly Father,
There is so much in this world that distracts us…so much noise…so many things that seem so urgent and pressing, but they are often just energy and time drainers …please help us to let go of all that isn’t necessary so we can find time to be still before you… so we can hear your voice above everything else…so we stay focused on the things that really matter.
There is so much negativity that surrounds us…when we focus on the state of things in the world on top of what we are already dealing with, it’s easy to become overwhelmed…to feel irritated…to be angered by the things that others say and do…to worry and despair over what the future may hold…but you have not given us a spirit of fear…you have given us a sound mind and a thousand reasons to hope…
Help us to remember that you are in our midst and you are our hiding place, our place of safety, our refuge, our defender and a shield about us…help us to guard our hearts and minds…what we feed our minds is just as important as what we feed our bodies…help us to be mentally and emotionally healthy…help your church to be healthy…help us to be wise and discerning so we are not caught off guard or deceived…help us to remember who our true enemy is…help us to be good stewards with all that you have entrusted to us in every area of our lives…there is much we can’t control in this life, but we can choose which thoughts we entertain and who we listen to and focus on …we can choose to “unplug” from the noise and distractions and things that stress us out and just spend time in your presence…
You are the solid rock beneath our feet…when everything seems off-kilter and distressing, help us to look up to you…the things of this world fade away in your presence… in your presence, we remember why we are here, whose we are and that you make all things new and all things beautiful in your time…thank you, Lord, for all you do for us…for all you give us…for all that you are…for all that you have overcome and all that we have overcome through you. We thank you for all that is to come…help us to remember we are your beloved children and no weapon formed against us shall prosper.
In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen
