Daily Prayer For September 22, 2015

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Our Father,
So many of us are facing dark nights of the soul…you know all who are praying at this moment who are dealing with things like death, injustice, loss, illness, divorce, abuse, difficult relationships, addiction, financial troubles and the aftermath of natural disasters … No one will escape suffering in this life…suffering is a language spoken around the world… the circumstances and reasons for our pain may differ, but pain is pain and it is hard and difficult and something that stretches us beyond what we think is possible to endure…Jesus knows all too well about the darkness that is in this world… He was well acquainted with sorrow and grief. We have a High Priest who sympathizes with our weaknesses and understands our pain. The darkness is not dark to Him. Nothing is too hard or difficult for Him to handle. He is there in the darkness…You are are with us in all we face. The Holy Spirit dwells within us… we may not see you, but we see your light shining the brightest in the midst of the our dark nights, instead of our bright days…
We hate to walk in the darkness Lord, but we know we must, because we are in a fallen world…suffering, pain and the dark nights and valleys are where we grow and experience things of you that we can’t learn in any other place … the hard times are where we spiritually mature… where we form deeper bonds of trust with you…where we fully realize your power and your strength in our weakness…where we truly learn that we can do all things through Christ…
Lord, we thank you that we don’t walk alone on broken, dark roads or gray dreary days…we thank you that we don’t have to carry any difficult thing or situation by ourselves…Jesus asks us to surrender our pain, surrender the hurts, surrender the broken, shattered pieces of our hearts so He can carry those things and exchange it all for His peace and comfort. Oh, Lord…what a blessed Savior we have who took the weight of our sins and suffering upon Himself and continues to carry our heavy loads so we don’t have to…
Father, no matter where we are this day, no matter what is going on now…no matter what is to come… may we remember the empty cross and tomb…may we remember that you don’t always give us answers, but you always give us yourself …you may seem silent at times, but you are always present…we don’t have to ever wonder where you are …one day we will see for ourselves the times that you protected, intervened, defended and surrounded us with your angel armies and you kept us from even more harm and adversity than we knew about… one day we will see with different eyes what is going on in the spirit world around us, just like Elisha’s servant saw when His eyes were opened. Thank you, Lord for your compassion, grace, mercy, and strength. We give you praise, glory and honor as we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
May you find healing, comfort and rest in the arms of Jesus!
