Daily Prayer For September 8, 2015

Hello, Friends! I’m feeling led to re-post this prayer today,..

Our Dear Lord and Savior,

We come before you today and we offer up to you our disappointments… first we offer up our disappointments with ourselves. So many of us are feeling like we are in places that we never thought we’d be in…whether it’s because of our own doing or circumstances beyond our control. We try to change things and take steps to help ourselves and yet we don’t seem to make progress…or nothing changes in our situations. Lord, if we are doing something wrong, please speak to us and show us. Help us to see ourselves through your eyes and with your measuring stick. Too often we try to measure ourselves against others or against worldly standards of success. Help us to have right perceptions based on your best for us and what you value as important.
Lord, we give you our disappointments with others… there are so many ways that people can let us down and disappoint us. We ask you take our hurts and help us let go of our expectations of others. Help us to see through your eyes, so we might replace the disappointed, bad feelings with ones of forgiveness and grace. We pray for a wall of protection and deliverance for everyone who is being mistreated and abused…and we pray for miracles in these situations, Father.

Please bring healing and provision…help us to recover from the places we find ourselves in because of the actions of others. There are many here who are dealing with courts and government agencies who make impersonal decisions on matters that affect their financial well-being and the safety of their children. Lord, for all of those who are so disappointed and have been failed by systems that are supposed to protect, please intervene as only you can, Lord. Please make a way where there seems no way.

Lord, you are working on so many areas of our lives and we thank you that you don’t leave us how you found us. You are healing, restoring, pruning and helping us to be the best we can be and to help us to get to that hope filled plan that you have for us. The process is not easy or pain-free, but we know that you want only the best for us…help us trust in the silence and when it makes no earthly sense to. Help us to take the steps that are needed on our part and trust you for the rest. Your plans usually look very different from ours, but your plans for redemption, restoration and the future are always with our good and your glory in mind. Thank you for your faithfulness and for all that you are doing on our behalf. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
