Daily Prayer For January 24, 2023
Thu Feb 02, 2023 11:14 am
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Heavenly Father,
You tell us not to be anxious, worried, or afraid, but that is much easier said than done. So many people who pray with us write and share how they struggle to let go of things beyond their control…struggle to not be anxious about the future, about their families, about their health… about all the things that are going on in the world that make them fearful for the direction things are going.
Lord, please lead and guide us and help us do all we can to help ourselves and our loved ones, and then trust you to provide what is beyond us. You tell us to give our burdens to you, and you will give us rest. We so long for the rest that only you can provide, Lord.
Please help us get better at shutting down anxious and worried thoughts and replacing them with your promises. Please help us focus more on you, The Prince of Peace, instead of the things that rob us of peace. Please help us see these times as an avenue of learning to trust and depend on you more. Please help us get better at silencing our fears and the voices of doom and gloom so we can hear your voice above all others.
If we could see into other realms, just like Elisha’s servant, we would see all who are battling on our behalf. Please help us be mindful that there is always more going on than what we can see…that we have reason to hope and say all is well. Abba, please help us be like the apostles who could sing while in prison and be content in all things. Please give us the courage to trust beyond what we can see and walk by faith, not sight. Help us be doers of the Word and not just hearers. May your Word seep deep into our hearts and minds and take root and cast out weeds of worry, fear, and anxiety. We need your help to do these things, so we look to Holy Spirit to make us brave and help us understand and apply, more than we ever have, the words of comfort and instruction you give us.
Thank you for being our Shepherd, Provider, Deliverer, and Light in the Darkness. We are grateful that our hope lies not in ourselves, our abilities, strength, or power, but in yours. We praise you and thank you and bless your holy name. We ask these things in the mighty name of our Savior, Jesus. Amen.
May you find peaceful rest in Him, friends!
