{Solved} Sims 4 - **Saves** Folder...
Wed Oct 09, 2019 2:16 pm
I was wondering...
In a research recently (something I'm always doing) I came across something about - (Keeping Your Sims 4 Folder Tidy: Saves.) Seems easy to do, but after looking at my Saves files, I was wondering if I would be able to "Rename" these files so I'll know what goes to which?
I guess it's safe to say, these are files for my Lots/Simmies that I've Saved and played for the day. To know who they belong to, can I rename them to what Lot/Simmie they belong to? Just asking, case anyone would know.

No, you shouldn't rename your save files to a title, but you should be able to "renumber" the slot files and then back them up in a labeled folder somewhere else on your computer. What you can also do is give your games a distinct title ingame so you can tell them apart instead of just Game 1, Game 2, etc. Before you attempt to reassign your slot numbers, always make sure you back up your saves of course, in case something goes wrong. I will try to find more info on how to rename slot files safely.

That's awesome. Thanks hun... A little voice was telling me to just leave them alone. That's how I messed out my game a long time ago. Thanks for the tip. I will do that. I'm thinking you are referring to the way Plumbella has saved her hoods. I see she has saved each Hood with their own name.

I was just reading over your notes, and the part about giving my games a distinct title "Ingame" so I can tell them apart. Now when I do that with they 'all' be saved under the primary game? How are they saved under - say, (Slot_000000021.Save)? When I go in to play the game that has the new name, will it automatically be saved under the primary?

I don't think what you are asking is possible since you can't "name" slot files, only renumber them. The only way to do what you are asking is to try removing all slot files except one, load up the game to see the game file name that it is and then name a blank folder the game name and copy the slot file to the folder and do each slot file like that one by one. It's really not necessary or beneficial to know which slot file is which and you can really mess things up if you're not careful. That said, I really don't know much about the Sims 4 the only thing I could find are these MTS and Reddit threads.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Thanks hun! You always have good advice to my 'crazy' thoughts. And for sure, I don't wanna mess my game up. I was just asking, Before I even attempt to change anything.
The info you shared is quite helpful, as that's exactly what I was looking for in the (reddit) but wasn't sure where to look. Thanks so much! To be on the 'Safe Side', I'm gonna leave things as is...
