Daily Prayer For October 24, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Our Father,
We know that in this life we all have crosses we must bear…you never promised that life would be pain-free or struggle free…but you did promise to walk beside us and that if we come to you and give you our burdens, you would give us rest… you never intended for us to carry the weight of our troubles by ourselves…you want us to see that you give your strength and power to replace our own…you want us to see our great need for you…to know that we are incomplete without you…that we are powerless without you… you want us to realize that with your help we can do all things… you don’t want us to cower in fear or feel overwhelmed …you stand at the ready to help us, we need only ask and learn to trust and surrender and we will be more than conquerors over every trial and difficulty.
Our burdens seem so much heavier when we become bitter and resentful…When we resist and struggle or take things into our own hands we make things so much more difficult…when we focus more on the burdens, than on you our burden bearer, our path seems harder and longer…help us to focus on you, Lord…help us not to compare our lot in life with others…you have a plan and a purpose for each of us… we don’t always see what others deal with behind closed doors…may our focus be on trusting you and your perfect plan for what you allow to touch our lives.
Father, help us remember that one day we will be trading our crosses for a crown…Help us to submit our will to yours. Help us to picture you walking beside us and carrying our heavy loads. You gave so much in this earthly life…endured so much, that we might live…and you keep giving to us every day… offering your peace, your strength, your joy, your love, your grace…when our loads start to feel too heavy, help us to stop in our tracks and not try to go a step further without your help…help us to see our times of adversity, grief, illness and loss as a chance to spend more time with you…a time to be closer to you and to experience more of your grace and to see your work on our behalf…your timing may not be our own, but your are faithful and your promises are true…help us to learn how not to take back our troubles once we turn them over to you…help us to find rest as we wait…
Thank you, Lord…for all you give…for all you do…for never giving up on us. We bow before you with humble hearts and open arms. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
