The World Trade Center cross, also known as the Ground Zero cross, is a group of steel beams found among the debris of the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, New York City, following the September 11 attacks in 2001.
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
As we gather together today, we once again remember the tragic events of this day in 2001. That day changed our whole world in so many ways. We saw the worst in humanity and the best all at once. Images are forever etched in our minds of where we were and the shock, horror, pain, loss and incredible acts of selflessness, kindness, sacrifice and unconditional love.
We lift to you all who lost loved ones because of the events on 9/11/2001. May they find some measure of comfort knowing that the world has not forgotten. This happened on U.S. soil, but there many from other countries who also lost their lives that day. We pray for families everywhere who are feeling a sense of sadness, loss and grief today. We pray for families around the globe who have lost loved ones, their homes and their way of life due to terrorism, persecution and violence.
Lord, please bring healing to everyone whose health has been affected because they were responders on 9/11… so many suffer the physical effects of all the chemicals, dust and pollutants they were subjected to. They truly gave unconditionally of themselves and we lift them to you with gratitude in our hearts. We ask that you would bless them and their families for the sacrifices that they made and meet their every need.
Our world can be a scary place,Lord. We ask that you would help us to look to you and not the things that would make us fearful. We pray for strength and courage to endure hard times. We pray that we would learn to love our neighbor as ourselves…that we would treat others the way we would like to be treated…that we would be full of loving-kindness and compassion and that we would be reminded to pray for our enemies that they might come to know you.
Lord, we pray that we could once again have that sense of unity and hope that we felt after 9-11. It was not only in the U.S., but it was felt around the world. For a brief, shining moment, we were united by the things that we had in common instead of being divided by our differences.
Please pour out your love, comfort and grace today on all who read this…In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
Blessings to you friends!
