Daily Prayer For March 4, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

Today we lift up everyone who has a hard time on the weekend. In our society we tend to associate weekends with fun times, but for many, the weekends are difficult…for many, the weekend is a reminder that they are alone, or their loved ones aren’t with them…for many, it is a reminder of their financial lack when they can’t go do things…for those who are ill or disabled, or for their caregivers, the days all blur together and they find they don’t have a lot to look forward to…and still for others, it is not a time of rest…their list of responsibilities and things they must take care of, just doesn’t allow for down time…there are many other reasons, Lord, and you know them all…you see each person who is struggling with sadness, loneliness, illness, financial problems, weariness, being overworked and overburdened… Lord, please pour out your comfort, peace, grace and mercy and meet each need.Please help us to focus on all that we have, instead of what we lack. Help us not to focus on the images we see in the media that make us feel like we are missing out if we don’t have the same things or experiences as others. From a young age, we are bombarded with images of “the good life” and “happily ever-after” and we think that is how life is supposed to be for all of us… but your ideas of what things are important and necessary is so different from the world’s ideas… and the truth is, the images in the media are not the reality for ,most people.
Help us to embrace our circumstances that we might glean the lessons that you have for us… each hard place and season we find ourselves in, is a chance to know you in different ways…a chance to learn a new lesson… and a way to see you move on our behalf, as you meet our needs. Help us to find contentment in you. You want only the best for each of your children and if we are lacking in an area, it is for a divine purpose that we might not see or understand at this moment.

Father,we ask for your peace that passes all understanding. We pray for miracles and provision and an overwhelming sense of your presence today. May we trust you to provide for everything that we need. We know that you inhabit the praises of your people and so we praise you today, Lord… we praise you for who you are and for all the things you have done and are going to do. We commit this weekend to you and all that is in it. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
