Daily Prayer For February 27, 2023
Tue Mar 07, 2023 3:29 pm
Hello Friends! Many people are writing that they are dealing with anxiety, so I’m reposting this prayer…
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day and for walking with us through it. We are grateful for your guidance, wisdom, strength, and instruction that help us navigate life. The Bible says history repeats itself; there is nothing new under the sun. Though events may change, people have struggled with fear, anxiety, and worry since before Jesus walked the earth. Your Word contains so many verses about worry, fear, and anxiety because you knew this would be an issue for humanity.
Abba, you know some things are easier said than done. No one would deal with these things if it was easy not to worry or be anxious. Your Word tells us reasons why we should not fear. You tell us not to be afraid because you are with us. You tell us not to be anxious about anything because you will help us. You tell us not to worry about tomorrow…what we will eat or how we will live because you know our needs before we even ask. Commandment after commandment is given to us, instructing us how to live free from fear, worry, and anxiety. The answers may be simple, but they don’t happen without action steps on our part.
You tell us to meditate on your Word night and day…to remember you are beside us in all we face. You tell us to take our thoughts captive…that as a man thinks, so he is. You tell us to fill our minds with things that are good and deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable, so we can have your peace. We have to read the Bible to know what it says, and to have your peace that defies our circumstances, we have to saturate our minds with your promises and truth. We must replace all that is in the news with the good news in your Word. We have to take our eyes off the problems and meditate on you and all you can do as our Problem-Solver.
There is so much going on that we should be concerned about, but being concerned is different than being anxious, worried, and afraid. We know the world doesn’t offer us hope, answers, peace, or comfort. Everything we need is found in you…our Sar Shalom…our Defender, Protector, and Provider. Please help us to do better in this area. We pour out to you all the things that are troubling us and thank you for your promises to be with us, help us and meet our needs. Help us replace our harmful thoughts with scriptures that will bring us peace. We thank you in advance for your help in this area so we can live victoriously through you. In the name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen.
May you be filled to overflowing with His peace, friends!
