Daily Prayer For April 20, 2022

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
We thank you for this new day and another chance to join together in prayer. Lord, we ask for continued help to learn to keep our thoughts on you and not all the troubling things that are going on around us. Thank you for the progress we’ve made. We’re not where we want or need to be, but we thank you for all you’ve taught us and how far we’ve come. We thank you for all you are continuing to do to help us grow more like Jesus.
As we keep moving forward and pressing on in faith, help us think of the cross and the empty tomb today, and every day, so we can be filled with hope, joy, and strength. We pray the emotions and feelings that tug so profoundly on us at Christmas and Easter will stay ignited within us every day of the year. Please help us grow and mature spiritually, so our perspective is on things that have eternal value. We pray it will always be in the forefront of our minds that we serve a risen King who is alive in us, and He is greater than anything in this world.
Please help us soar with wings like eagles. Sometimes our spirits are willing, but our flesh is weak, and we find it hard to do the things you ask of us…the things we know will help us…the things we know we should do, but we don’t feel like doing. Please help us persevere with your power that is within us. Please grant us your stamina, energy, and focus so we can accomplish all we need to do today. There is so much that is happening that is disconcerting…so much that makes us feel sad…so much that just drains us. Please help us rise above the emotions that leave us unmotivated and overwhelmed. Please help us keep pressing on and pressing into you. Thank you in advance for all you will do in us and through us today, Lord. In the mighty name of Jesus, we ask these things. Amen
