Unfortunately, I never knew about the Sims Games. I was first introduced to Sims in September, 2010... I was checking your attached videos, those all seemed fun. I liked the Roller Coasters, So funny. Were you able to make them go faster, or was that the same speed through the entire time they were riding them?

It went the same speed, but it was still hilarious to watch. There were so many awesome and fun objects/interactions that I wish that they'd bring back. Unfortunately, The Sims 1 no longer installs on Windows 7 and up (although it did install on my old tower with W7).BBdoll wrote:Were you able to make them go faster, or was that the same speed through the entire time they were riding them?

Aww, I tried all kinds of configuring from all kinds of forums, even MTS, but it just won't install.

When my Mom died on Christmas morning 2007, I went into such deep grief that I wanted to died. My daughter gave me her Sims 1 disk then before I could get really involved, she dragged me down to an electronic store to get the Double Deluxe Sims 2 game. So playing Sims and connecting to the online fellowship saved my life.
What I remember about Sims 1 is being so proud of the way my one little old slob of a guy pulling himself out of the gutter, sprucing up his appearance and getting a job.

oh my !!
that was a sensation!
my daughter came home with the very first sims game
I believe that was for a playstation game
i thought then,
was a stupid game is this !!
and never gave it much attention
later when the laptop came out, and the sims game was re-released
yes this version
I looked at it more often, because my daughter was always completely absorbed in the game
I thought at first
what is important! , which makes her always so completely antosiastic
she always showed me
and therefore I fell in love with the game also,
so I also went to buy a laptop
and this game
by learning a lot from my daughter
I knew a little bit how to manage it
and from one came the other
I can't say which part I liked the most
because I liked everything about what you could do with the game
I thought building the house was the nicest thing
those objects were so beautiful
and especially the flora,
oh what a great time we had with the sims
thank you for sharing the old memories Cinda

I had no idea this game even existed until a year before I retired in 2010. And only then did I learn about it, by over hearing some friends at work talking about it. I happened to be in this store that was going out of business, and noticed they had their games on sale. I bought the Sims 2 DD for less than $10 bucks. Took it home and Loved it!!!!
I ran back to the store and bought all of the other Sims 2 games they had. I think the cheapest one they had was for $5 bucks... So you know I made a killing that day. After about 2 weeks of me playing this game, my poor husband was threatening to take a 'Hammer' to my computer. I told him, if he even looked crazy at my computer it was gonna be a War in our house!!! That game was like Satan had possessed my body, only it was the Sims 2... I was burning up dinners, forgetting about appointments, I even forgot it was Thanksgiving... I go to work 6, come home at 5 and be on that computer until 4 a.m., take a nap, get ready for work at 6. I'm telling you, the Sims is worse than cocaine,,, and I don't even do drugs. I can not even imagine what it would be like if I had purchased the Sims 1... I even researched to see if they had a, Sims Anonymous
Anywhooo, I just had to share that with y'all, as I'm sure I'm not the only one who was (is) hooked. Only after my hubby passed away, did I feel so much guilt from letting this game take over my life, that I missed out on the time I had left with Richard. I had stopped playing my game for well over a year after he passed. Just not the same. Even now, I don't play my game as I did at first, but I do still enjoy the time I do play.
Thanks again, Cinda for these fun videos!

haha ,, I can imagine BB
I too had to leave the game to do the house skin and the care of my family
and often against sense ,,. oh what a shameful intention that was
she often called me simsannie
but luckily I have never neglected my family
and often only started playing when everything was done at home and when the children were asleep
I had to
because otherwise it would have gone wrong as with many families who played the game
divorces have ended up with families !!
whaaa ... omy what a state this game has produced also !!
but BB now that you also have all the games from sims2
are we still going to see you here?
hahaha .. i'm kidding
and yes the computer will have to do its best to make everything run
I have therefore only installed sims2 ,. reluctantly
I also wanted to add all the extensions that I have, and I also have theme all still
but my laptop cant handle it so good all the games at the same time ..
have fun BB

I played The Sims 1 for the first time somewhere in September 2005 and few weeks later I learned that The Sims 2 exists with so many improvements so I jumped on 2 immediately!

You are so right about that Poppy. I bet there were many divorces. I know there had to be a lot of arguments that's for sure. It was so bad with me that one time the Smoke Alarm went off and the house full of smoke from me forgetting the food. It was funny to me, but not Richard.
It was a great improvement, September. I finished watching all of the videos above and I don't think I would have enjoyed the Sims 1. Well, maybe I guess, but after playing the Sims 2 the 1 does not seem that much fun.
Believe it or not, as much as I enjoyed playing the Sims 2, after playing my Sims 4, and going back to Sims 2 for a day, I was warn out! I felt like I had just been in a cat fight. It's a lot of work in getting your simmies to do things. You have to direct them in just about everything. The Sims 4, they pretty much know what to do and can take care of themselves. I was playing one of my families and went to check on some food I was cooking and let them play. I came back in 1 1/2 hours later and they were still playing and in good shape. If I did that in my Sims 2, they would have been dead or dying.

I like the games which are challenging and I played mostly 2 and 3 and about an hour The Sims 4 and I'm having the feeling that The Sims 1 is the most challenging of them all. Not sure is that because I played it for a short time or it's lasting longer to earn plenty of money with sims to build and buy expensive stuff...

You would be correct about that - the needs in the Sims 1 are insanely difficult to keep up and pretty much impossible to make friends for promotions in my honest opinion. I learned not to complain too much on how difficult it is to keep the needs up in the Sims 2 and Sims 4 (Yes BBdoll, it's just as difficult to keep needs up in Sims 4 as it is in Sims 2 ). At least the Sims 2 has lifetime award perks that slow down need decay.
Even with those two major challenges, the Sims 1 was still incredibly fun to play...
