Daily Prayer For July 6, 2019
Sun Jul 07, 2019 6:35 pm
Hello Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Please help us to be conscious of what thoughts we entertain. It is so easy to get lost in fear and anxiety because of world events. It can be easy to let bitterness and anger take root in our minds as we think about the destructive words and actions of others. It can be hard to let go of pain and sadness when we are missing those we love. It can be a challenge to overcome destructive thought patterns when they become a habit or become our inner voice. Please help us to break free from anything that is harmful and not helpful.
There are so many things that try to consume our thoughts and you knew we would struggle in this area…but, you have given us so much guidance and direction in the Bible on how to deal with this problem. You tell us to think on things that are good and true and pure so that we might have your peace. When we find our mind dwelling on things that lead us away from you and your peace, may your Holy Spirit guide us and prompt us to take our thoughts captive and to look to you, your promises and uplifting and encouraging truth from your Word.
Help us to remember who we are in you…help us to remember to whom we belong. Help us find that place of praise and worship that brings us into your presence. Help us to apply the things we learn in scripture to our lives. Help us to do better and be better and to not grow complacent or apathetic about doing all we can to help ourselves in our thought life. We may feel helpless to change…at times, our challenges may seem too hard and we might get discouraged and think we will never overcome..but we know with your help, everything is possible.
Please help us in our weaknesses, Lord…they are different for each of us, but you know what help we need and when we need it. We surrender everything to you. We thank you in advance for all you will do to help us, heal us, change us, encourage us and make us be victorious and more like Jesus. We are grateful we can ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen
May you have blessed weekend friends!
