Daily Prayer For May 27, 2019
Wed May 29, 2019 3:51 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
Many have lost their lives through the course of history as they protected their homelands and their loved ones and made a stand against tyranny and evil men. Many have given their lives in the pursuit of freedom and justice and the pursuit of a better life for themselves and those they love. Today we honor their sacrifices and their willingness to lay down their lives for others…we honor their memory, their bravery, their courage, and their valor…
Lord, please be with all who are missing loved one’s today. May they feel your nearness, peace, and comfort in the midst of their pain, grief, and loss. We thank you for your promise to comfort those who mourn.
We lift up to you all who have loved ones in the military and for all who are deployed. Please meet their every need…may they find your strength to carry them and your peace to replace their fears and anxious thoughts on the hard days. Please bring everyone home safely, and put a hedge of protection around those who are in harm’s way.
We also lift to you all the veteran’s who are remembering their fallen brothers and sisters today. We pray for healing, comfort, and provision for all who are in need emotionally, mentally and physically. May they receive the treatment, care, and honor they so deserve.
This day is not about political differences…who is right or wrong…nor is it a time to debate if war is ever the necessary course of action. This day is to remember the men and women who were mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters, husbands, wives, siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins and beloved friends who died too soon and who have left loved ones behind who miss them every day. It’s a day to honor and remember those who were willing to lay down their lives for others. It’s a day to remember that freedom isn’t free and we are blessed to live in a place where we are free to worship and own a Bible and be free from religious persecution all because so many who have gone before us wanted us to have those freedoms.
We look forward to the day when we will be reunited with our loved ones who have gone before us and there will be no more war, no more pain, no more tears, no more being separated from loved ones…no more death. We thank you there is coming a day when there will be no need to protect anyone from evil, tyrants, oppression or harm. We are looking forward to that day when we all will live in peace and the freedom that Jesus bought with His precious blood, so we all could live as you intended with you for eternity. We thank you for all we have to look forward to because of all that Jesus gave.
We thank you that we can ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen
