It was off to the Broke household, just when Brandi got her first bump she finally received her trust fund money and it was just in time too. Dustin was trying to help support the family but was heading in the wrong direction.  One day when Dustin returned from school she had a lecture with him about quitting his job because he did not have to work to support the family anymore because of the windfall.  Also, it would be a good thing that he quit because his dad would be returning home by the end of the week. Finally, with some money in her pocket, Brandi went shopping for new clothes for  Beau as well as for herself with enough left over for a new look.   Brandi wasn't sure if Skip would be prepared to work when he returned so Brandi decided to brush up on her sewing skills and open up her own craft shop.   With Skip's return it was just in time for the birth of daughter Abby. Skip then made a promise to Brandi to be more family orientated and do his best with the kids.  As a matter of fact, he managed to get both Dustin and Beau both into private school.  Realizing that the home on Woodland was way too small Skip found a place on Middle Lane with room for  Brandi's  new business.   And to top things off Skip told Brandi that he'd help her with running the business.   In shock, the only thought going through Brandi's mind was that Skip had changed and it was for the better.
