Daily Prayer For August 20, 2016
Mon Aug 29, 2016 9:50 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Lord,
You embraced the meek, the poor and the afflicted when you were here on earth. You had compassion for those who were shunned by others. You came to heal and bind up the wounds of the brokenhearted. You came to give hope to the weary and heavy laden. You came to proclaim liberty and to give sight to the physically and spiritually blind.
People may ridicule us. People may cast us aside. People may turn their backs on us and treat us unfairly…but you love justice. For everything this world takes away from us, you will repay with untold riches. You have clothed us with the garments of salvation. You have covered us with the robe of righteousness. You are our bride groom and we are your beloved bride. You will lovingly adorn us with things that we can’t begin to imagine… you will make right all the wrongs. The suffering of this world will fade from our memories and joy everlasting will fill our hearts… we will dance before you to songs of praise.
Oh, Lord, we pray for a glimpse of heaven today. You have made ready a banquet table and you have sought to invite the outcasts, the broken, the poor and the afflicted so your table will be full and your bride complete. So many struggle with their afflictions. They don’t see their worth or purpose, they don’t know how highly valued they are because of what they endure here.
Every child of yours who holds fast to their faith in the midst of their adversity, disability or illness is a living witness to you and your sustaining grace. For every Christian who says in the midst of their struggles, “I trust God and I know He is in control”, shows the world that faith is something that the world cannot give or take away and points the way to you. Every believer who gives praise to you in the midst of their storms, gives hope to others that you are real, that we are not alone and there is help and hope for all…
Father, may we go forth with new strength, new vision and new purpose as we cast off the things of this world for your eternal gifts. May we press on wearing your mantle of joy and leave behind all the world tries to stain us with. With outstretched hands we ask you to fill our cups today with more of you. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
You are so loved friends! Blessings be upon you!
