Daily Prayer For June 29, 2016
Sat Jul 02, 2016 7:41 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Our Father,
We humbly come before you with gratitude in our hearts for all that you do for us. In these days of such terror and turmoil…chaos and confusion…You are the stabilizing force in our lives. We recognize our need for you, Lord. Thank you, for never-changing. Thank you, for being the one thing we can always count on…the going doesn’t get too tough for you…you don’t get overwhelmed or shaken…you don’t get discouraged…you don’t lose faith in us even when our faith wavers…you never become too tired for us to lean on you…you never tell us we’re not good enough…you don’t make fun of us or cast us aside when we share our fears and worries…you offer to take them from us as an act of compassion and love… you never reject us because we don’t act a certain way or look a certain way…you don’t grow impatient when we don’t understand …you don’t focus on our failures or shortcomings…thank you, Lord, for being consistently the same source of encouragement for us, day in and day out.
Lord, there are many here who are questioning why their prayers are not being answered… there are many who are discouraged. We lift them to you, Lord…you have given us two huge examples in your Word of when you didn’t answer prayer with a “yes”…When Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane and He asked for the cup of suffering to be taken from Him and when Paul prayed for his thorn in the flesh to be taken from him. Father, you’ve shown us with the greatest of examples, that you do not always choose to answer our prayers in ways we would like…sometimes you have far greater things planned through our trials and suffering…Your answers to Jesus and Paul were not based on being angry or displeased with them. Your answers were not based on the fact that you did not love them or because you did not care about them… their suffering was not in vain, wasted, or without divine purpose. Jesus knew that for sure…and Paul trusted in you enough to know that you have a reason behind everything that you do and he trusted you for what he could not see or fully understand.
Father, you are not slow to answer. You are not neglectful of your children. You do not turn a blind, uncaring eye…nothing escapes you. Your plan for each of us includes growing us spiritually and preparing us for eternity…sometimes the times of training, waiting, depending and trusting are so difficult .…thank you for your patience with us and your compassion for us! Thank you for making all things beautiful and right in your time. We thank you in advance for what you are going to do in each of our lives. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
Blessings, hugs and love to you all,
