Daily Prayer For June 20, 2016
Thu Jun 23, 2016 3:53 am
Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for your Word. We thank you for the example that Christ gave us. In your Word, we are given so many examples of how to do things…We learn from Christ’s example how important prayer was. We learn that even Jesus wept. He was well acquainted with sorrow and grief. He became tired and had to go off by Himself to spend time with you and rest. He turned to you when He was anxious and overwhelmed…
We are told that the Bible is our sword…it is our defense against doubts, fears, anxiety and every attack that the enemy might use against us. The Bible gives us hope when we feel hopeless. It is truth to stand on…it reminds us of your promises and who we are in you…it is our source of encouragement…it reminds us where our strength and hope come from…
When Jesus was tempted He used the Words”It is written”…even Jesus used your Word as a weapon to defeat the enemy. Oh, Lord…help us to have a hunger and thirst for your Word…help us to overcome the things that distract us and keep us from reading as we should…it is our life-line, especially when we are hurting… but it’s so easy to turn to people and other things instead of you and your Word. Please help us to become disciplined with our time so we make spending time in your Word a priority…help us to listen, read and find ways to let your Word saturate our mind, so we can remember your truth in every situation we might face. Renew our minds and transform our hearts. May your Word truly be a lamp to guide our path. May it be a beacon in the dark night that points the way to you and reminds us of your love, your goodness, your promises and your faithfulness.
There are so many who are not allowed to own a Bible…to do so brings imprisonment or death…help us to never take for granted what is made so easily available to us…may we treasure it as much as the believers do who wish they could own one…we thank you for our blessings, Lord…how blessed we are that you care about us …how blessed we are that we are not defenseless… that we are more than conquerors through our blessed Savior and Redeemer. Please pour yourself into us that we might become more like Jesus….may others see His light in us and be drawn to you. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
Praying blessings over you friends!
