Daily Prayer For September 23, 2015

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we gather together today we ask for your help…we ask for your wisdom and insight…Lord, it is getting so hard to watch the news or read about the things that are happening in the world…it seems like the world has lost its moral compass and common sense…things are happening that leave us shaking our heads in disbelief…things are tolerated that never would have been in the past…the lines of what is right and wrong have been blurred for much of the world…things that should provoke outrage are met with stony silence and things that should never become an issue, make people rise up in anger…

Lord, there is just so much to be angry about…so much injustice…so many things are wrong in our world and it seems as though standing up for what is right and raising our voices on behalf of those who have no voice is no longer considered the right thing to do any longer…Oh, Father…help us please…let us hear your voice in the madness of this increasingly godless world…

Help us to learn how to channel all of our anger and frustration in healthy, productive ways…help us to be convicted to be mighty prayer warriors for all that we see going on in the world..help us to be salt and light…even if no one listens or sees the truth, you see and hear all that we do…for good people to stay silent…for people to turn their heads and a blind eye away from injustice is to allow tyranny and evil to gain a foothold and spread…help us to be about your kingdom business all our days, Lord… help us to do what we can to speak the truth in love, to defend the defenseless, to vindicate the weak, to fight for the rights of the needy and helpless…

May our words and actions have an impact for good…at home, at work,in church, with our neighbors and in our communities…may we see clearly and never lose sight of what is right and wrong, even if those around us lose sight of it…may we not become apathetic or think that just because something doesn’t affect us, that it doesn’t matter…help us not to become callous, indifferent or desensitized because there is so much going on… help us not to become overwhelmed either…help us to keep our eyes focused on you, even when righteous anger wells up inside of us…help us to lay our troubled minds, our worries, our concerns and the things we are helpless to change at your feet.

We lift up to you the persecuted, the innocent victims, the orphans and widows, the enslaved, abused and mistreated, those who are victims of unfair or corrupt systems, those who are denied freedom and justice…Lord, please hear the cries of the hurting and send your angel armies to fight against evil and to protect your children. Help peace and courage to reign in our hearts and help us to remember this world is not our home and one day you will right the wrongs and evil will be no more. Until that day, may we fight the good fight and wave your banner in this increasingly dark world…may we spread hope and encouragement wherever we go as we point the way to you as the solution to every problem, the hope for humanity, the peace that defies circumstances, the light in the darkness and the way that leads to life…thank you for being our stability and strength, Lord. We ask these things in the name of Jesus our Savior. Amen

May the Lord lead, guide and protect you and yours.
