Daily Prayer For January 6, 2018

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Father,
We pray that our relationship with you will be the most important thing in our lives… we pray it will be your approval that we seek most…your companionship we seek first… may your voice be the first we hear in the morning and the last one we hear before we fall asleep at night…we ask that as we draw closer to you, that we will be strengthened and encouraged and be less bothered by things that are going on around us and in the world. Help us not to become stuck or stagnant. Help us to keep growing and moving forward in every area of our lives.
Help us to remember that we are like clay in your hands… we are broken down, but not destroyed. Our hearts are being shaped and molded into something that will not be easily crushed and will be a thing of beauty in the likeness of Christ… so many of us are far from healed and so far from where we want to be… so many still have what feel like bleeding, gaping wounds…but you promise to bind our wounds…you promise to renew, restore and redeem… you are always working and moving, even when we see no signs of that fact…
We reach out to you to touch the hem of your garment…please touch us as only you can and in the ways you think we need. Help us to be content as we wait on you…help us to remember that waiting time is not wasted time… if you ask us to wait, it is for a purpose…help us not to grumble or complain when your timing does not line up with ours…may we learn to let go of the things we can’t control and trust them to your hands.
We ask to experience you in a new way today, Lord. May we find a new scripture that touches our heart, a new song that encourages us…a new insight into your character that we had never noticed…we just want to know you better and be filled with more of you and less of ourselves… May we feel your nearness this day and may our hearts be at peace as we rest and wait on you.
In Jesus’ name, we ask these things Amen.
