Daily Prayer For April 15, 2017
Sat Apr 15, 2017 12:55 pm
Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…
Dear Lord,
This Easter weekend as we think about all you endured and all that you have done… as we think about your endless love for us and all that this weekend represents… help us to gain new insights and learn new spiritual truths…help us not to look at this weekend as just another Easter…may we see things with fresh eyes and an open heart. We pray that by the time Sunday comes we will find your joy and peace overflowing in our hearts with a renewed sense of hope and purpose. We pray that just as you rose from the grave and threw off the wrappings that bound you, may people rise up and throw off the things that bind them…
Many here are feeling the pressing weight of numbness and hopelessness. Some feel like everything they’ve known and all that was familiar, has disappeared…everything has changed and they don’t know where to start to pick up the pieces… some feel as though they have lost their sense of purpose and life no longer has any meaning…they question why they are even still here…please help them to remember how hopeless things looked when Jesus died and how everything changed in a matter of days. We can only imagine how lost and broken Jesus’ followers felt after He was laid in the tomb… If you can take the cross and all that Jesus went through and bring new life, new meaning, new callings, new hope, restoration and salvation from that horrific, hopeless situation, you can redeem all the enemy meant for harm in our lives as well. You still have the last word in all things. No one can stop your plans or what you have ordained.
Help us to remember when we feel discouraged that our own “Resurrection Day” will come one day and we will trade the corruptible for the incorruptible…our resurrected bodies will be forever free from pain, sorrow, illness, death and tears…as great as those things are and as much as we look forward to those things, the greater gift is one day we will be with you and know the fullness of our relationship with you. Our minds can’t begin to conceive of the joy that is coming but we can imagine what your followers must have felt when they saw you were resurrected… they must have had a taste of that joy that is coming…may we carry that thought in our hearts today…help us to remember that though this life at times can feel dark and hopeless, it’s just the dark before the morning light and our Sunday is coming. We love you Jesus. We praise you and thank you. Amen
May your day be richly blessed!
