Daily Prayer For March 2, 2017

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

The story of Peter walking on the water was one of the greatest visual lessons we’ve been given on how to deal with trials and traumas that come into our lives. He had great faith at the moment he asked to come to you…he knew the waves were turbulent and the winds fierce… he knew that what he was asking was humanly impossible, but it was not impossible for you. Peter knew you were his protector…he knew you would not let anything happen to him…he knew that even the winds and waves must obey you…so he took that step of faith and he did what no other man had done by keeping his focus on you. For those few brief moments he forgot what was happening around him. He forgot his fear. He realized what was possible with your help.

Peter felt your perfect peace in the midst of a turbulent storm…until he took his eyes from you…then his brain took over… where faith had guided him a moment before, fear engulfed him…he started to sink and panic…he forgot what he had done only seconds before through your power and strength.

Lord, many of us are standing at the side of a figurative boat that is being battered by stormy seas and you are reaching out to us with your hand extended…you are saying to them, “trust me”… You want to show us great and marvelous things that we can’t imagine…you want to show your power in our weakness and show yourself as the God of the impossible in our lives… you want to let us see that you are firmly in control of everything and nothing is impossible through you… may each of us find your courage to take that step of faith that will allow us to know you in ways we’ve never known before…may we find your peace and your comfort as we focus on you and not the storms around us. May we overcome our fears with faith and find safety and rest in your arms as you protect us and lead us to still waters.

Lord, please make us spiritually strong. We ask for your help to overcome the things that are holding us back and keeping us from moving forward in our lives. You have so many blessings you want to impart to us…so much you want to teach us and so much you want to help us overcome…may this be a time of spiritual and personal growth that we couldn’t imagine was even possible…help us to let go of all the reasons why we think we “can’t” and embrace the fact that what we can’t do, you can. We praise you for your great and mighty works. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
