Question about Sims 3!
Sat Mar 12, 2016 10:09 pm
Hello my fellow Simmers! Hope everyone is enjoying their games. Eh, I'm new to the Sims 3 and I have a question about logging onto my Sims 3 game. You know when you first log on, and I'm sure someone knows the answer to this. Anywho, I have a few Exp Packs, and at the start when I get ready to log in, a message tells me it's best to only select (2) Esp packs to ensure the game has not issues. I did have them all selected, but then decided to only select (2) as recommended. I'm assuming that for all peeps I've saved I need to select which ever pack I selected and have saved them in. Problem is, I can't remember which ones they were in. How do I determine which one to select?
Since I've selected all of them, should I just continue to choose all of them? Thanks1

Well, it's got that option now, which is good, because The Sims 3 is such a high-end graphics demanding game. This new option is helpful for those who have a lot or all of the EPs/SPs so they can disable instead of uninstalling if their game is lagging from the high volume game content if they have a low-end machine. Since you probably have a pretty good machine and just a few Eps/SPs, it's really not necessary to use this feature. Keep in mind if you do use this option that the objects, build, and other CAS content, worlds, etc will disappear and be replaced by another object by the basegame. Just check all of them and select Install Packs and you should be good to go. Remember though, if you had played your game after you unchecked some packs, that any content from the packs you placed on your lot or CAS stuff on your sims will be removed and replaced with basegame stuff, and you will see a message pop up stating that those objects have been replaced.

Ok, thanks. I notice that my game keeps lagging and stopping as if it's in a loop. So I logged off and unchecked all of the ones I have, and like you said they disappeared. Only the ones I'm assuming that are base games are shown at the end. I did not load all of the games.
Only ones I have are Late Night, Seasons, Ambitions, Island Paradise and Stuff Packs are High End and Fast Lane. I was not sure which ones to check cause when I select all of them my gam is lagging. I'll just select a couple to see what happens.

You can always add one at a time back and see how well it works; you may be able to add one EP without it lagging.

In my opinion, it's really the SPs that add a big load to the game so I have all the SPs unchecked and it runs better.

Ok and just play with just the one EP only? I see what you mean about that message about object missing. I was assuming that in order to play the Island Paradise and get the other ones also, I needed to select the ones I want to play. This is confusing.

I just re-read what you said. So if I just check my EP's I'll be okay? I'll try that. Thanks.

I would add one at a time and test play it, starting with your most favorite EP.

Yep! This has happened to me, so had to revisit this section to read up on why I was seeing this message pop up. Now for a 'new' question. If I do a "Save As", does the same happen?

I have noticed, especially after an update or a patch, that the EPs and SPs that you've previously checked somehow all get unchecked. Don't know why it does that. I just make sure to check that they are checked before I play so I don't have objects being replaced.
The Saved As option allows you to save the game as a different name. You will see the renamed game on the household panel next to the original.

Cool! Thanks for the info, Cinda. I've been on my Sims 3 a longgggg time today. I really do like it. Donno why it took me so long to play it. Just seemed so complicated and I didn't feel like dealing with it.
Anywhooo, thanks again. I'm gonna log off for now. My rear has lost all feeling. Chat with you later.

BB
I myself only have the basic game
and that's enough, because I never play the game
only to build
but you have to save after every familly you make
I think I could also move the family
you can also change some public areas into residential areas
and I usually take that park by the sea
and edit the lot to build
then you have a beautiful view over the sea
and the sunrise is so beautiful
