Daily Prayer For February 12, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Lord,
With Valentine’s Day coming up, there is much talk about love…help us to remember that there is no greater love that we could ever know…no greater example to try to emulate than what you have shown us. The Word says you are love…you embody love…your perfect love casts out fear…your love is patient and kind and sees beyond our faults… it hopes for the best…believes the best…gives unconditionally…how blessed we are to be loved by you…
Help us to become more like Christ…may people see Jesus in us…may they see that we spend time with Him and that we are changed by knowing Him… may others see Jesus in the way we go about our lives and by the way we love…may we speak kindly and think kindly towards others. May we be slow to anger and quick to forgive…may we be full of compassion and understanding…may we be as patient with others as you are with us…may we see the good in others and not be quick to judge or condemn…may we be full of mercy and may our words edify and not tear down… May your light shine forth from our lives in such a way that people are drawn to you.
Lord, we don’t want to come to you just because we are hurting or just because we need something…we want to hunger and thirst for your righteousness and to be in your presence…to be filled with your peace and joy until our cups spill over onto those around us… we want to rest at your feet…to die to ourselves that Christ might be resurrected within us…Lord, take all of us…take all the broken pieces and make something beautiful from our lives… from our messes… from our brokenness… make something that reflects the beauty of Christ in us…you are never closer than when our hearts are breaking…you long to be our healer, our closest confidante and our most trusted companion. Help us to fall more in love with you with each passing day. Thank you Lord for your goodness, grace and mercy and for loving us so well. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
