Daily Prayer For October 5, 2015

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for this new day and new week. We ask you to go before us and to lead and guide us in all that we say and do. Please help us to number our days…help us to do more than just exist … help us to make our days count. It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of our schedules and all the things that are on our to do list…at times our days just blur together and it’s hard to stop and take in the beauty around us…we don’t allow time to just breathe, relax and rest and see the wonder and miracles that surround us… we cut ourselves off from feeling your nearness because we are so rushed …for some of us, we are just always so behind…it’s easy to lose sight of what is truly important when we are struggling…help us to thrive spiritually, no matter what is going on in our lives…

Lord, we pray for those who are dealing with illness, disability and financial difficulties…we pray for those who are dealing with health issues that keep them in pain and feeling unwell… we pray for those who are unable to enjoy life the way they would like to… we pray for those who are kept from doing the things they would like to do because of circumstances beyond their control…we pray for those who are struggling because they are not the person they would like to be…Lord, may each one receive a touch from you… may they feel your nearness…may they see signs of you, even if they are not able to get out…may they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are with them through all they face…may they see the light of your glory in their circumstances…help them to be lifted into your presence so they will not feel confined, shut out, or pinned in…may they enjoy sweet fellowship with you…

Sometimes life does not turn out the way we hope…many of us have found ourselves in situations we could never have imagined…life has been harder than we thought it would be…for some, no matter how hard they have tried, their circumstances have not improved…they just haven’t been able to get ahead…some are so discouraged, Lord…we pray for your comfort and intervention…help us to remember that nothing has taken you by surprise…we are where we need to be…we are learning lessons right where we are…we are finding you to be our strength and sufficiency…when we have done all we can do, help us to stand on your promises…help us to not get down on ourselves…help us not to become bitter or angry…help us to not covet the things or lifestyles of others…help us to learn to be content in all things…may we find peace knowing that you are on the throne and one day we will understand all that was so illusive here…we will understand what you’ve worked in us and what you have worked out for us…we will see that nothing has been wasted…help us to find the things to rejoice over…to be grateful for…to be thankful for…help us to see everything as a chance to know you better…to see your hand in all things…

Lord, we are here to bow down and worship you…to say you are our God…you are the God who provides…you are Our Peace, Our Shelter, Our Healer and Our Redeemer…Help us to make the most of this day and may we glorify you as we learn to walk in the fullness of your joy. In the name of Jesus we ask these things. Amen
