{Solved} Slow game
Thu Sep 10, 2015 11:56 pm
I just started to play my sims 3 game for the first time in a few months. I tried to make a new family but my game was being so slow and taking so long that I gave up. My game didn't act like this when I played it before I took the break from it. Can someone help me figure out why it is acting like this please?

did you clear out the cache files?
Do you have CC in your game? If yes take out the mods folder and try again

I don't have any mods. How do you clear the cache files?

Hi hun
Delete your compositorCache file and your simCompositorCache file and any other files that end with "Cache". Don't worry about deleting them as they will regenerate when you start up your game. They can be found in your Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 folder. They are standalone files and they look like pieces of paper or notepads, and you will find them at the very bottom of the Sims 3 folder. The Sims 3 piles a ton of memory in those caches each time you play your game, so deleting those cache files after you quit your game each time will keep it running it smoothly. The Sims 3 was can be very glitchy just after a short time of playing, and I remember when I played it I had to delete those cache files each time I played or I couldn't even play it for all the glitches and freezes. Let us know if this does the trick for you; if not we can point you towards other solutions.
