Good evening and to Simmer's Garden, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
First of all, make sure you have the latest versions of Clean Installer and Microsoft Net Framework for your OS - you can find the links to both here. If you don't know which framework to download for your OS, you can search for the correct one by typing in "Microsoft .NET Framework for" 'your Operating System and service pack' in the search box on the upper right of the page
( For example, for mine, I would type in Microsoft .NET Framework for Windows 7 Service Pack 1).
After you have downloaded and installed the latest Net Framework, take these steps to install Clean Installer by clicking on the spoiler below:
Hopefully this resolves the issue for you but if you are still having problems with installation, let me know and we can troubleshoot the problem from another approach.

- Spoiler:
- First, click on the Clean Installer icon.
You probably will see a window pop up like you saw before prompting you to unistall the older version. Click yes.
An uninstall should pop up next. Select Uninstall.
When it finishes uninstalling, click close.
Now, once again, click on the Clean Installer setup icon.
The setup window will pop up and then you can select Next and follow the setup from there.
Hopefully this resolves the issue for you but if you are still having problems with installation, let me know and we can troubleshoot the problem from another approach.

Let's try the simple method first. Sometimes when a program is uninstalled it still leaves folders and even remnants of the program behind despite showing that it has been uninstalled in the Control Panel.
Now, reboot your computer and try to install the Clean Installer. If it doesn't, we will move on to the next step.
- Spoiler:
- First, empty the Temp folder by going following this tutorial. Certain temp files can prevent a program from installing.Next check to see if any program folders from the Clean Installer have been left behind.I'm using my Windows 7 pc as an example below but I think it's pretty much the same for Windows 8.Go to Start>Program Files and search for the Clean Installer amongst the other folders. If it is there, delete it.Next, got to Computer>Windows 8 C>Program Files (x86) and search for the Clean installer folder. If it is there, delete it.
Now, reboot your computer and try to install the Clean Installer. If it doesn't, we will move on to the next step.

Are you running the Origin Sims 2 Ultimate Collection? If so, that would explain the issues many have had with Sims 2 programs since TS2UC was finally linked to Origin last year. I have to use the manual version of SimPE because it no longer works correctly since Origin messed things up.
Like I mentioned above, I think I know what the problem may be - remnants of Clean Installer remain in your registry and is preventing reinstallation but I thought it would be best to try the simple stuff first. This article from MTS explains how to remove the remaining registry keys from your registry. Like it says, it's highly recommended that you back up your registry before you start if you're not sure of what you are doing or it will totally mess up your computer up. As long as you don't delete anything but the Clean Installer folder-keys, it will be okay.
If you find any remaining Clean Installer folders and then deleted them, you can now reinstall it. Before you do, you can see if running the setup in an earlier OS and running as Administrator will make the installation successful. Right click on the setup app and select Properties. Then under the Compatibilites tab, check the Compatibility Mode box and select Windows 7 from the drop box and also check the run program as administrator box then click apply then ok as shown below.
Hopefully, this is what will solve the problem but if not, the only other option would be for you to run the no-install (desktop) version of Clean Installer since there won't be any more updates for it because it's creator passed away in late 2014.

Sorry that it didn't work for you but you can still use the no-install version, just keep it on your desktop all the time. You will have to tweak it a little bit to make it open SimPacks automatically and for the shortcut; here is a tutorial that shows how to do that with the no-install version.blackbeauti wrote:hi good evening i tried your solution but that didn't work either do i have the non installer but i am only getting some cc i am not getting to install sims and some mods and cc
It's obvious that Clean Installer has stopped working for later OS (it works fine on Windows 7) when EA/Origin monkeyed around with the game to link it in Origin. Sadly, none of the programmers on MTS seem interested in updating Clean Installer; they've all moved on to the Sims 4...
Let me know if the no-install version works for you; I'm curious to see if that final solution worked for you.

blackbeauti. I'm glad that it is working for you now. It's great that they thought of a no-install version in case the original Clean Installer did not work.
Good evening to you and dont be a stranger!
