Daily Prayer For December 1, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we gather together today, there are so many needs. We pray for the people of Tennessee and Israel who are dealing with such horrific fires. We pray for all who have been affected by tornadoes and storms. We ask for your comfort for all who have lost loved ones, their homes, their businesses and their possessions. We pray for those who are missing in the fires in TN and for their anxious families. Lord, may they all sense your nearness and we ask for your intervention that they might be found. We pray for the firefighters and emergency personnel. Lord, please be their strength physically, emotionally and mentally. We pray for their families and ask that you would calm their fears and anxiety as they await the safe return of their loved ones.

There have been so many tragedies in the news. May the grieving find you to be their hope, strength and comfort. May those who don’t know you find you…for all who are dealing with so much loss, we pray that they will find you to be the God Who Cares and Provides…

For so many reasons, this has been such a tough year for each of us,Lord…we pray for your grace and strength, so we might finish this year well…help us to be so aware of Jesus this month…help us to remember all that His birth made possible…help our hearts to be filled with hope as we remember all the miracles that surrounded His birth…help us to find and embrace the sense of awe and wonder that surrounds this season, even in the midst of our struggles, pain and losses…help us to find joy in Jesus. Even when everything seems to be falling apart, He is our reason for being, living and carrying on…He is The Bright and Morning Star that guides us…the Savior of the World who loves us so much that He humbled Himself to be born in a stable…all so He could die that we might live…when we feel like life is too hard to bear, help us remember all that he bore for us…help us to remember that He counted it as joy…Help us to remember that our struggles are just one tiny fraction of our eternal story and we can face tomorrow and every day after that until you call us home, because Jesus came, died and rose again because of His great love for us and through Him, we can do all things.

Please go before us this month…help us to handle well all that lies before us…help us to take care of ourselves and know our limits…please fill us with your Spirit and love so it overflows onto all around us. Lord, thank you for walking with us all of our days and for giving so much of yourself to us. May December be a special time where we are filled with gratitude and great joy for the gift of Jesus. We love you, Lord and thank you that we can pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
