Daily Prayer For October 8, 2016

Hello, Friends! Here is today’s prayer…
Dear Heavenly Father,
As we gather together today, we thank you for hearing our prayers about Hurricane Matthew. Although there is much devastation and loss of life, especially in Haiti, we know that this storm could have been much worse…it never made the direct hit on FL that it was predicted to make. We thank you Lord, that this hurricane was not as catastrophic as it could have been…we rejoice with those who were spared and we grieve with those who grieve…we lift to you all who lost loved ones…we lift to you all who lost their homes…for those who are suffering due to flooding, for those whose possessions and property was damaged… those who lack clean water, shelter, and electricity…Lord, please meet each need…thank you for all the relief agencies and volunteers who give so much after a disaster…please bless them as they bless others…please continue to be the source of strength, help and comfort for first responders and clean up crews…may people see you in the midst of their losses and pain and find you to be The God of All Comfort and The God Who Provides…may they feel your nearness…Lord, please bring healing, encouragement and hope to everyone in need and may they see their mourning turned to joy and beauty rise from the ashes.
Lord, we see all too clearly how all it takes is one disaster, one phone call, one accident, one doctor’s visit or one poor decision, for everything to change…none of us know what tomorrow holds, but we know that you hold us and all of our tomorrows…we know that you care about every need…you care about every tear we shed…you grieve with us when we hurt…you lavish your love upon us through every season of life… you stand with us through the highs and the lows and you never let go of us…we are grateful, Lord for all you do…we thank you that even though we see splashes of h*** in this life…things like evil, pain, suffering, loss and death…as believers,we know that is all we will see of h***…but the splashes of heaven that we see…your faithfulness, all the goodness, kindness, blessings, love, peace, joy and beauty… well, these are only a taste of what is to come…help us to always remember that this is not our home…we are only passing through…and all the hard stuff, is just the dark before the glorious dawn that is coming…
We love you, Lord. We thank you for hearing our prayers… we thank you for knowing our needs before we ask… we thank you for desiring to spend time with us and for your amazing grace that made our blind eyes to see. May we be a beacon on a hill that points the way to you. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
