Daily Prayer For December 10, 2015

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you that you are always near to those who call on you. We thank you for never leaving us or forsaking us…our Emmanuel… God with us…the Savior of the world…The Bright and Morning Star…We thank you and praise you Lord, for all that you are…

Lord, please help us to be conscious of what thoughts we entertain. It is so easy to get lost in fear and anxiety because of world events. It would be easy to let bitterness and anger take root in our minds as we think about the destructive actions of others. It can be hard to get past our disappointments when our expectations for the holiday season don’t match up with where we’re at. It can be hard to let go of pain and sadness when we are missing those we love. Many of us find it hard to get past the difficult financial situations we find ourselves in…
You tell us in your Word, to think on things that are good and true and pure so that we might have your peace that passes all understanding. When we find our mind dwelling on things that lead us away from you and your peace, help us to remember to focus instead on you…or an uplifting scripture… or the many times you have answered our prayers… May our thoughts continually be brought back to the reason for this season…our greatest gift…the birth of our Savior… Every need, every want, every hurt, every negative emotion fades away in the light of your glory… Help us cling to your truth. May we find your joy and peace and be lost in the awe and wonder of you…

When we start to be overcome by the negative or our burdens, may we remember that you took on all of those things so we don’t have to. Help us to remember who we are in you…help us to remember to whom we belong… please help us find balance in our lives… help us to remember our first love for you…please help us not to be jaded about this season…we should be more joy filled than anyone because we know you as our Lord and Savior and risen King… Help us find that place of praise and worship that brings us into your presence today.

We thank you that even though our outer man is slowly ebbing away, our inner man is constantly being renewed and restored… Come and cleanse us, Lord. Come and renew us and make us to be more like Jesus… Help us to remember your track record of getting us through hard times…help us to rejoice knowing you are on the throne and in control and nothing can come against you. May we be as a light shining in the darkness, pointing the way to you. Thank you for loving us like no other. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
