Daily Prayer For February 25, 2017

Hello, Friends! Here is the prayer for today…

Dear Lord,

We lift up to you today all who deal with chronic pain and illness. It can be such a heavy burden to carry Lord, but we know that you are with us and seeing us through everything we face. We pray for healing according to your will. We pray for understanding and compassion to be shown to all who suffer. Many deal with pain, illness and disabilities that are invisible…everything looks fine from the outside, but looks can be deceiving and the rejection and the lack of understanding and compassion can create emotional and mental pain on top of the physical pain they experience.

We pray for restorative sleep as many do not sleep well because of their pain. We pray for those who are despairing of life and have feelings of being unable to endure any longer. We pray for those who are depressed because of the things they can no longer do and miss out on. Please comfort as only you can, Lord…please fill each one with your hope…minister to them in body, mind and spirit. We ask you to send people to stand by each one and to offer support and encouragement. We pray for the loneliness and sense of isolation that many feel. Please send them faithful caring friends. Please meet all of their financial needs, and help them to receive the best possible medical care. May they find doctors who are kind and compassionate and who understand their situations and what they deal with.

Lord, please comfort their family members as well… chronic pain and illness has an impact on the entire family, not just those who suffer. Please give strength and energy for all involved and help each one to find helpful coping skills to deal with the day-to-day stress that often arises from such difficult situations.

Lord, we know that you are working even through our pain and trials. Many may feel forgotten, but no one is ever forgotten by you. We may not understand why things happen this side of heaven, but we know nothing is wasted by you…help us to hold on with hope, knowing that a day is coming when there will be no more pain, illness or suffering…in this fallen world we deal with such difficult things and we share in Christ’s sufferings, but there is coming a day when we will share in His riches and glory in our restored and glorified bodies.

May everyone reading this be drawn close to you through their struggles and may they find you in ways they could never have imagined… May they cling to the hem of your garment and find your grace and strength that will never fail. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen
